The Spring Equinox is the astrological new year. Marked by the beginning of spring and planting new seeds in preparation for a bountiful harvest in the fall. Greco-Roman mythology is the time of resurrection. When Persephone comes back from the underworld, the springtime deities of Dionysus run wild. In the Tarot, this period is the Fool card: Wild new beginnings!
Many of these festivals can still be seen in how people worldwide celebrate Easter in the Christian tradition. There is a breaking of a fast, particularly for those who observe Lent, feasting, lots of candy, and special ceremonies.
During this time, many pagans, witches, or magically curious folk use this time to plant whatever metaphorical seeds they desire to manifest over the year. Getting ready for a summer of growth, leading to a fall of great harvest.
The best thing I suggest people do during this time is to get clear on their intentions for the rest of the year. When doing this, I often recommend that my clients take quality time on their own, doing something deeply relaxing and pleasurable. For example, take yourself out for your favorite coffee drink. It is never a bad idea to fill a bathtub with relaxing bath bombs, soups, and oils. Something as simple as going to a relaxing place in a park works too.
Then take a moment to ask yourself how the year has gone and what you desire to manifest into your life over the following year. Be careful not to judge your desires as impossible or too simple. Write down everything that comes to mind!
One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when creating their lists of manifestation desires is getting caught up in results instead of marinating in the feeling their desire brings. Often this leads to associating their value with the outcome instead of working with surrounding energies for their greatest good (i.e., God, the Universe, or whomever you work with).
Think of this list as a form of prayer. You are putting down what you want, and you and the Divine will work together throughout the year to make it a reality.
This equinox is particularly powerful because Jupiter will still be in Pisces until May. Jupiter is the overseer and ruler of all deities in the Roman pantheon. He offers opportunities for expansion and specifically rules Pieces. This means that in 2022 this planet will be STRONG until May when he moves onto Aries.
Take advantage of this magic by thinking big! This equinox is particularly powerful because Jupiter will still be in Pisces until May, making this a great time to consider your desires for the year and for years to come.
Set up your altar with green or blue candles and lapis lazuli or amethyst to prepare. Place your written desires in the center of the altar and ask Jupiter to help you this coming year. I also like to ask Persephone to help me with any shadow work that needs to be done to bring my dreams into reality.
